Giliberti Project

We were approached in the fall of 2008 by a client that was looking for a unique outdoor living area and formal entrance to their home. At the time all they had was a small timber wall and failing walkways. Our client was looking for more. A contemporary design with seat wall, pillars and a bar area were special requests.

Since my clients hardly ever use the front door they wanted to encourage people to approach the side door, which is located between the driveway and backyard. We installed a understated walkway to the front door but drastically enlarged the walkway to the side door with an oversized landing and inviting walkway that leads to the back patio

We kept the lines of the patio linear to enhance the contemporary layout and stay true to the design concept. Custom seat walls and pillars wrapped around the back of the patio to not only give the patio dimension but to provide structure for the slope.

We chose Unilock 'Brussels' 3 piece paving in the color Sierra. Unilock charcoal colored Holland Stone pavers were used as accent borders in the patio. We mimicked the paver accent in the seat walls by installing the same charcoal banding as contrast. The seat walls were constructed with Unilock 'Olde Quarry" in the color Sierra as to be consistent.

The project was softened and aged with custom plantings and rich nightlighting.
