2007 DEMLANG PARADE OF HOMES

The owner of Demlang Homes approached me to create a landscape that created a "zero entry" to the front of the home while enhancing the homes architecture and natural stone beauty. We competed with over 15 other homes and landscape designs. The Demlang Home received the overall "Best of Homes".

I designed a landscape that incorporated a water feature and bridge leading into the front of the home. This help disguise the grade change and created a "wow" effect for curb appeal. Colorful plantings and evergreens added texture, color and fragrance. The planting locations were also incorporated to soften the pond and walkway, drawing more attention to the home. Stone in the inlay and bridge wall were chosen to compliment the stone on the home.

The backyard was designed for entertaining. A large natural stone fireplace was the focal point and created height. Adjacent pillars and wood arbors brought all the components together. Built-in grill and bar created the perfect heights. Man-made pavers designed to replicate stone were used for durability and cost. They worked perfect with the natural stone used for the fireplace and grill and bar areas. Plantings including a large river birch were used to soften and create privacy.
